Steve Gamboa (a.k.a. Stevie G) has been involved with dee jaying, producing, and performing live music for over 19 years. He began as a DJ in 1988, spinning hip-hop, rare groove, and funk at various parties in his hometown of Washington, DC. Soon after, he became the bass player for the seminal underground punk group, The Nation of Ulysses, and afterwards, the drummer for The MaKe uP, which released several full length LPs and went on to tour the US, Europe, Australia, Japan, and Brazil.

Stevie has been an imported guest DJ at the world-renowned, Ku De Ta bar/restaurant in Bali since 2002 and is currently a permanent resident spinning for sunsets, dinners, and late nights throughout the year, as well as for specially themed events such as the monthly “Funked Up Fridays” sunset sessions. Since August 2005, his other weekly residency includes 2 very successful alternating Thursday classics parties (“Bam Bam” and “Hip Shaker”) at F Lounge in Seminyak where he specializes in playing roots Reggae and dancehall as well as bringing funk, soul, and underground disco classics to a steady crowd of soulful music fans. He has also played on several occasions at Liquid, Lush Bar, Casa Pasta, MbarGo, Hu’u Bar, Paparazzi Lounge, Double Six in Bali; in Jakarta for the opening of nightclub Mezza9; and at Horizontal Lounge, the only lounge on Gili Trawangan, Lombok.
